Troubleshooting Router Connectivity Problems The majority of connectivity issues with routers can be solved by simply power-cycling or rebooting your router. Here are the steps you need to take: NOTE: DO NOT PRESS THE RESET BUTTON ON THE BACK OF THE ROUTER as it will erase the configuration of the router and you will not be able to get back online until it is programmed! STEP 1: Unplug your router's transformer from the power-source, outlet or power-strip for approx. 30 seconds. Be sure you do not unplug the antenna power transformer, which usually says "Motorola" on the transformer head. It is important that you unplug the router from the power-source and not simply from the back of the router, because the router's power transformer stores a static charge which may not clear if only unplugged from the back of the router. STEP 2: After 30 seconds, plug the router's power transformer back in to the outlet and then wait an additional 30 seconds before re-trying your Internet connection. If you still are not receiving a connection, try rebooting your PC.: STEP 3: If you are still not receiving a connection after rebooting your PC, double check your wires and connections, make sure there is nothing loose or disconnected. Make sure that your power strip is turned on and that the lights on your router are on. Try repeating steps 1 & 2 above.:
STEP 5: After 30 seconds, plug the antenna transformer back into the outlet and retry your connection. Note: it may be necessary to reboot your PC as well.: If you continue to have difficulties, contact our support team for assistance.
