About your Email Quota

An email quota is the amount of space reserved on the server for your email messages. If you have a CaribServe.NET email account (yourname@caribserve.net), the mail quota is 100 Megabytes.

When you check your email using a POP3 email program like Outlook Express, the messages are downloaded from the mail server to your computer and do not count towards your quota.

Reasons for your mailbox to exceed quota:

bullet Large email attachments can fill your mailbox and thus exceed your quota.
bullet Leaving copies on the server: If you have configured your email program to leave a copy of your email messages on the server, your mailbox can also exceed the quota.

What happens if my mailbox exceeds quota?

If your mailbox exceeds quota, there is no room for additional mail and all new messages will bounce back to the sender.

How do I keep my mailbox below quota?

If you use an email program, such as Outlook Express or Netscape Messenger:

bullet Download all email from the server to your PC.
bullet Remove messages with large attachments by saving them to your computer, or deleting them.
bullet Do not leave copies of messages on the server
